A token page is not a company file

Rankings answer “what is this asset worth on a screen.” Directories answer “who is answerable.” Dextape keeps both, and refuses to glue them into one card.

What happened

Most crypto homepages treat a ticker, a lab, and a foundation as one object because they share a logo.

Why it matters

Readers who cannot tell a tokenholder from a customer will misread every hack, every split, and every “the company is exploring a token” rumor.

When a wallet brand and a protocol shop separate, the token page and the company file diverge on the same afternoon. That is not a branding story. It is a liability story. Dextape’s directory records the entity, the vertical, the public sources, and the assets that are related — not owned, not “the same.”

CoinGecko descriptions are useful and attributed. They are not diligence. A CoinGecko paragraph can describe a network while the operating company is in a different jurisdiction with a different board. We print both, with stamps.

What we will not do

  • Invent headcount, revenue, or “users.”
  • Treat a token unlock schedule as a company’s earnings calendar.
  • Score a product we have not put through the review method.

If you want the method for products, read the Reviews index. If you want the method for prices, read the market-day essay. This piece is only the seam between them.

Original method files are collaborative and unsigned. Syndicated wire bylines stay with the publisher. Dextape does not invent named correspondents.
