Crypto Wallets Lose $700M in Revenue During H1 2026: Report
Gaming revenue rose despite weakness elsewhere, accounting for $3.3 billion of the consumer crypto sector's $5 billion first-half total.

Brief
A new report from 1kx, a market insight provider, says crypto wallet and interface revenues dropped 60% year over year in the first half of 2026, to roughly $400 million. The firm attributed the decline mainly to lower trading activity and volatile prices, which removed about $700 million compared with the first half of 2025, when wallet income reached around $1.1 billion. Gambling and gaming revenue rose 8% to $3.3 billion, which 1kx said helped keep the broader consumer sector's 11% decline, about $600 million, from being worse. DePIN revenue also slid 10%, from $293 million to $264 million. Santiment data showed Bitcoin losing about 30,000 non-empty wallets since mid-October, which the firm viewed as possible capitulation by smaller holders.
Why it matters: It shows wallet income depends heavily on trading conditions, while gaming revenue has held up better across the consumer sector.
