XRP Ledger Turns On Fix for Delegated Burn Permission That Could Mint New Tokens
fixCleanup3_4_0 needed two runs at the 14-day validator window. The first broke on Oct. 21, 12 days in.

Dextape brief
A change to the XRP Ledger went live on Nov. 4, removing a flaw in PaymentBurn, a delegable permission that lets another account destroy an issuer's tokens. According to amendment tracker XRPLWin, fixCleanup3_4_0 was enabled in ledger 108,112,129 at 2:52 p.m. UTC. Before the fix, a delegate holding that permission could in some cases mint fresh fungible tokens, affecting trust-line assets and MPTs. Under the change, PaymentBurn transactions that would cross zero get refused. The change ships in xrpld 3.4.0, released Sept. 17, alongside other repairs. The amendment needed more than 80% validator backing for two weeks; it dipped below that on Oct. 21, recovered that day, and held for 14 days.
Why it matters: Issuers wanting to give burn duties to another wallet are now free of that documented warning, since the minting flaw has been closed.
