Strategy insiders sold millions, then the CFO resigned
Strategy’s corporate insiders have sold $29.7 million of MSTR this year ahead of a stock price decline and CFO resignation this week.

Dextape brief
Andrew Kang resigned as chief financial officer of Strategy, Michael Saylor's bitcoin company, on the day it released quarterly earnings, effective November 5. The company said in an SEC filing that the departure stems from personal reasons, not a disagreement. Shares of the Nasdaq-listed stock, MSTR, fell more than 8% that day. Protos reports that insiders sold 227,580 shares over the year, and Form 4 filings show nearly $30 million in insider sales so far in 2026. CEO Phong Le sold about $12.5 million of stock, director Jarrod Patten about $11.4 million, and Kang about $5.5 million, with his sales tied to tax withholding on vested equity awards. Le becomes principal financial officer on November 6, and Reza Virasteh is set to become co-CFO in January 2027.
Why it matters: The exit of a top finance officer at a major bitcoin treasury firm, alongside heavy insider selling, puts governance and disclosure questions in focus for crypto readers.
